On the FFE website, what is the 8-legged mount featured in the "Scout" logo on the main page? Does this fauna have a description in canon literature?

It's a Poni, which, by quirk of linguistics, is the name of an 8 ton herbivore, which some bilandin speaker confused into the place of the Pony, when coming up with the X-Boat Service patch.
Said patch was supposed to have been of a Pony Express rider.
