P2P freeware

I was wondering what the experience of others regarding P2P software has been like. I used to have Kazaa but found its content to be overrated filled with sites files that linked to pages that asked you to pay additional monies. Then came the numerous spyware attacks to my PC.

What are the other good ones out there?

1. This should be moved to Random Static.
2. The preferred P2P software for legitimate content is bittorrent, as far as I can tell.

Tobias

Erm, is this even a legitimate discussion topic here at all? Most P2P clients are used for illegal download purposes after all.

Large Linux distributions, free videos, large PD games, mods etc. There are a number of legit uses for Bittorrent. But I do agree this is a touchy topic.

Tobias

Sorry I would have no objections, if it were to get moved to Random Static. My hope is to use a widely used and free P2P to distribute things amongst my players (overseas) but I am finding things like messager not to have the capacity.

As I stated earlier, I had tried Kazaa but found it to be unsatisfactory. Also, there is a lot of legitimate stuff floating around out there amongst all the pirated copies of things. So to discuss the various merits should not always cause one to assume the worst.
