Packet Freighter Picture (WIP)

I see there are a number of differences, particularly on the crew size, fuel and cargo - gosh, a major rework of the plans would be needed !! :-(

Whoops. Sorry, that was me "optimizing". If I use a lower TL I can get closer to the original.

How would it look if it matched the HG design's Manoeuvre 2 capability and had accommodation for the steward?

Good ideas. Maybe another 10 tons of space taken. I might as well add them in. And I can always beef up the sensor suite; I could probably squeeze another 5 tons in there. And a beefier computer might finally require a ton of space.

So I can get within 40 tons of the drawn cargo spaces I think... not bad considering the record of Traveller deckplans-to-printed-stats... assume the deck altitudes are a bit different and voila...

Design brought in line with the HG stats.

Freighter F-GL23 Skipjack MCr238.3

Owner: Republic of Regina

Using a 700-ton hull, the Skipjack-class Freighter is a large merchant starship designed to move cargo, and specializes in seaport-access. It is equipped with the IDC FarDrive 3/J jump drive, the 9x22Gk Ganged Forelle field generator maneuver drive, and the Torgee PL JJ36 power plant. It is capable of Jump-3 and 2G acceleration.

Fuel tankage supports a 3 parsec jump, at 70t per parsec, and one month of operations. Attached to the bridge is a Computer Model/3. There are 7 crew staterooms, 8 passenger staterooms, and no low berths. Cargo capacity is 247 tons. The ship has a lift body hull, with scoops, intakes, and bins for frontier refueling.

Carried craft include 2 enclosed Air/Rafts in hull niches. The ship has 7 crew, and can carry 8 passengers.

Actual volume: 697 tons
Crew comfort: +0
Passenger demand: +0
