Photoshop CS question

Currently I use Photoshop 7.0 and Illustrator 10.

is there enough boost in performance/capability to justify upgrading to CS?

Nope. I use CS 2 suite and it is slower than the older programs - admittidly i'm only using a minimac with 1 gig or RAM and a 300 gig external. I also use Freehand 10 which I think is much faster than illustrator CS 2.

In the jump between 7.0 and CS they added a "in use" tool bar, so you can see the selected tool and adjust tool parameters without changing switching around.

They added much of the text vector layout from illustrator into CS. So if you are using Illustrator to add text to the Photoshop images, you can do most or all of this in Photoshop directly.

There are some other refinments or minor added tools.
