Hellow,

I need your help again:oo:.
There is a "Pinpoint Location" rule in pp.93 of referee's manual.

But I can't understand a detail of the rule.
I think this as bellow. Is this right?

Success :
Resolve as normal.
Exceptional Success:
Reroll on the "hit location table" until the desired location comes up.
Execptional Success+2:
Reroll on the "hit location table" until the desired location comes up.
Resolve a critical hit.

Q1 Which is the "hit location table". :o

There is a "hit location" table in the players' manual(pp.74). "Pinpoint Location" rule is only used for "MegaTraveller Combat" of the players' manual.

or

"Hit location table" means "starship damage tabled."

Q2 Is the Critical hit of execptional success+2 reduced by UCP armor factor "as normal."

Pinpoint hit is also known as "called shot."

Page RM 93 is in the starship combat section; the damage table in question is page 101 of same text.

So, if you say "Drives", and make the roll by 0 or 1 point, you have a normal roll on the Starship Damage Tables.

If you say "Drives" and make the to-hit by 2 or 3 points, you roll on the damage table until a Drives hit of some kind occurs.

If you say drives, and make the to hit by 4+, you roll repeatedly until you get some form of drives hit (MD, PP, or JD), and then roll a critical hit as well.

If you instead declared Spinal, on a to hit made by 2+, you would roll until you got a weapon hit of some level, and apply that to the spinal mount.

On anything smaller than a starship, it works differently (PM 73)
versus infantry:
by 0,1: normal hit
by 2+: AV halved

Pinpoint vs Structure, Locomotion, or Visible Crew
by 0,1: normal hit, random section.
by 2+: hit chosen section (random system if multiple systems in section) and halve armor

Pinpoint vs Power Plant
by 0,1: normal hit, random section.
by 2+: hit Power Section, random plant if more than one. Note that AV is still full.

Remember: exceptional success is making the roll by 2 or more over the needed number.

Remember: nothing in RM pages 90-101 applies to anything other than starships. Only starships use the rules in that chunk.

Thank you Mr. Aramis.

I think that "DMS FOR SHIP DAMAGE TABLE" of pp.94 RM should be applied on the Pinpoint hit resolving.

Without "DMS FOR SHIP DAMAGE TABLE", heavy fighters can destroy a battleship easily.

What do you think?

Yes, they are.

For clarity, they should have been added to the bottom of bage 101 in table format, but that's hindsight.
