Prestigue Class?

I could host such a site...but I don't have the time to design it. If someone wants to do a nice design, I can post it and any updates that come in.

Also, though it's not a T20 specifically, www.freelancetraveller.com has lots of fan submitted stuff, you could submit it there.

Or maybe we should just get a bunch of prestige classes put together and submit them to QLI as a Traveller's Aide issue or COTI article (and then all the contributors get paid too)

Commando Prestige Class - Revised
(Note: I got this most of this work from Reginald & Shane Mclean)

Here's my take on the Commando Prestige Class (Royal Marines / US Army Rangers -type game-ified a little).

Requirements: To become a Commando, a character must meet the following requirements:
Attributes: Strength 12+, Dexterity 12+, Constitution 14+, Intelligence 10+, Wisdom 10+
BAB: +3
Skills: Hide 3 ranks, Move Silently 3 ranks, Survival 4 ranks, Swim 2 ranks
Feats: Endurance
Other: Must have served at least one term in Army, Marines or Mercenary prior history

Stamina Dice: d10 + Con modifier per level

</font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">Lvl BAB Fort Ref Will Special

2 +2 +1 +1 +1 Trained Speciality
3 +3 +2 +2 +2 Feat (Improved Unarmed Strike)
4 +4 +2 +2 +2 Trained Speciality
5 +5 +3 +3 +3 Defensive Roll
6 +6 +3 +3 +3 Trained Speciality

8 +8 +4 +4 +4 Trained Speciality

Forward Observer - +3 to Forward Observer and T/Comms skill rolls (must have Forward Observer skill)
Infiltrator - Stealthy Feat
Medic - Surgery Feat (must have T/Medical skill)
Leads the way - Improved Initiative Feat (must have Spot skill)
Point Man - Spot Trouble - The same as the Rogue class ability of the same name(must have Spot skill)
Rifleman - Rapid Shot Feat
Bullseye - Far Shot Feat
Signaller - EW Specialist Feat
Sniper - Sniper Feat
Deadly Striker - Improved Critical Feat
Assassin - Assassin Feat
Team Leader - Tactics Feat (must have Leader skill)

Defensive Roll - The same as the Mercenary class
ability of the same name

Class Skills:
Climb
Combat Engineering
Demolitions
Driving
Forward Observer
Hide
Intimidate
Intuit Direction
Jump
Leader
Listen
Move Silently
Navigation
Pilot
Search
Spot
Survival
Swim
Techincal (Communications, Computers, Medical, Sensors,)

Skill points: (5+Int Bonus) per level

Special:
If any levels of this Prestige Class are taken in Prior History increase all Survival DCs in the following term by 2 and decrease all XP bonus and Decoration DCs by 1.
The Prestige Class may only be taken whilst serving as a commando with a military or mercenary unit. Further levels may be taken only when commando activities or training are being undertaken regularly.

I have a couple of comments on what you have done.

Firstly, I think that you have offered too any occurances fo Trained Speciality. The traditional commando team has someone specialised in each area, and trained in another for backup. What I was going to do for a 10-level version of the class was offer at level 6 an "Advanced Training" class feature that gave you another tier of ability in your first specialisation. I would cut down the occurances of Trained Speciality feature and put in normal Bonus Feats, 'cause another thing about Trained Spec is that you get the Feat irrespective of the *normal* prerequesites.

Secondly, I disagree with the requirement for Improved Unarmed Strike as a prerequisite. Most main-stream soldiers don't learn that sort of professional close combat unitl the are *in* the commandos.

Obviously, our opinions on commandos will vary and there is nothing wrong with your interpretation (except that you dare disagree with me mortal!!! ;) ) - just giving my thoughts.

Just so you know I'm going to use this one for my Sniper Prestige class.
I hop you don't mind, because I've already done it. :D

1st) my goal was to expand commando class from 5 lvls to 10 lvls to reflect what was done in the Star Wars d20 (see Elite Trooper) and D&D d20.

2nd) I am not requiring PC have Improve Unarmed Strike as a prerequisite

3rd) I am requiring a PC to have the prereq's for any feat that is label as Training Speciality: Such as you must have Point Blank shot before you can take Rapid shot

I take your critizism as open forum for debate.
Perphas We should concieve Hunter and the gang to open a Forum for classes.

People could sudmit their ideas and allow the community debate the merit of a new class.

Maybe, the best classes of the forum could be put into a TA.

Finally, You must except that I have to add my 2 CENTS worth to these posts from time to time aswell. ;)

No hard feelings.

D'oh! My bad, I didn't read it properly! Silly Shane!

[qutoe]3rd) I am requiring a PC to have the prereq's for any feat that is label as Training Speciality: Such as you must have Point Blank shot before you can take Rapid shot </font>[/QUOTE]The only problem I can see with this is that most fo the Feats you can get through Training Speciality are of little use for qualifying for other ones, and with no bonus Feats at levels some characters might not have the prerequesites to choose many of the Traiing Specialities.

Of course! Without expressing ideas and debating them it can be hard to ge to the best solution.

Of course not! I'd be more disappointed if you didn't give your 2 cents! I don't have to agree with someone's take on something to respect it, debate it, and help them devlop it (as in turn this help develop my ideas and stuff).

The CotI boards has a high rep for friendly, helpful debate and ideas, and the way you express ideas and opinions you disagree with (and the way you corrected my error about Unarmed Strike in a polite and matter-of-fact way without agetting flame-y) shows me you are just the sort of person I hope to see here regularly on the boards.

Keep the posts coming, mate!

Shane
