Printing Big PDFs at Kinko's

This morning while I was at Kinko's getting handouts copied, out of curiosity, I asked about printing to their big plotters. The black and white prints for a 36" x 48" plot are quite reasonable: $5.25. On the other hand, color plots are $10 per square foot! So, $120 !?!?!

So, you can print a big PDF map or deckplan at Kinko's, but you should definitely choose to print in black and white and not color.

My wife used to work at a photo finishing shop and they had a large digial printer. The thing could print banners 48" by as long as you could imagine, all from a single digital image. And they print them on different kinds of paper. While she was working there she printed a couple of rohirim banners on a rough surface that looked like canvas. (for the Two Towers Extended Edition Release party). Very neat. Also expensive ($9 per square foot or there about, plus more for the special paper).

I recently DLed the deck plans from your site Ron. They look great. Can I print them out on a regular printer? I was wondering if I print sections on 8.5 by 11 pages and then tape them together. Is this not possible? Any advice would help. Thanks
