Something similar to Traveller "chameleon" armor covering may be coming a few TL's earlier then was predicted:

i remember this

from "physics of the impossible" i read about stuff like this i like the Metamaterial (look it up) idea (radar version) but combined with this could make a tank "near" invisible to radar and light. "Sweeney explained, will be transparent battle armor for soldiers." man, took my idea. anyway very cool. so all you travellers can add "near" invisibility by tec level 9 o:.
