Raise your hand if you are still playing T20!

*raises hand partly*

Kinda. I still conduct thought experiments using the T20 framework. Deckplans and ship design for example. Currently I am not running a T20 game however. At the moment I've slipped into a more systemless paradigm for the games that I run - I have found that for the groups that I run with the system can get in the way of the narrative, removing/minimising the system gets around that.

Kinda, with stuff from other d20 sources. [make that a yes, you have to run it with some other d20 stuff]
But yeah I'm running an active campaign with it.

But I don't like the damage system. Have experimented a bit, but am leaning towards stealing the true20 damage system.

Which Babylon 5 the mongoose d20 one or the older one? The older one was fiddly, but at least it was entertaining, and gave the doctor an important role.

Is the 2nd edition done like 1st edition and like Starship troopers? ie Con at first level plus a small amount a level (1-3) with armour acting as damage reduction aswell as AC.

If so I have used it (via SST). And am looking for something a little more graphic or exciting. I actually like hit points in an heroic fantasy setting. But it just seems a little stale in a sci-fi setting.
Probably just me, as we were also playing d&d aswell and it sounded too much like bingo.

B5 2nd Edition has a small HP pool, a small increment per class level. I think this suits the lethality of the setting without the complexity of the two damage track (i.e. Stamina/HP or Vitality/Wounds) systems. I like having the single wound track.

AC is replaced by Defence Value. Class levels give a small bonus to the DV, as does Dexterity. Armour is damage reduction only, it affects DV only by reducing Dexterity.

I run two PBEM games (which is really the same game, but the two groups havent met yet in the campaign) and both have T20 specific characters in them that used a slightly modified system and basically OTU background. About 4 years ago or so I opened the Pirate part up to all Traveller character types, but all of the Solomani group are T20/d20 future characters.

I use the two track Damage system, because people still like to accumulate HP, but I just call it "Stun/Kill" to save me some writers cramp. "Lifeblood" sounds wierd to me.

When I plan for this game, I plan it in T20/d20 terms, which is great because there is tons of material and online generators and whatnot.

I recently pulled out my T20 Handbook after a lengthy gap (about 2 to 3 years) and am refreshing myself with the system. I also bought the T20 Player's book from LULU.com and downloaded the Station pdf.

I still have an issue or two left on the subscription I bought several years ago and am holding out a sliver of hope for the In the Air Traveller's Aide that was in the works back then.

After I am familiar with the system again I may make another stab running a T20 PBeM.

MY group is gaming t20 currently now and we use other games like T4, spycraft, fading suns, and star frontiers to help support t20 . We get together 3 times a month once for traveller and twice for a French game called Agone.

Nope, not me, I for one am fed up with supporting the many and various traveller rules sets over the years only to see them dry up when businesses collapse or licences get revoked.

I did launch a petition to try and generate support for T20 and present it to Marc Miller, but by then it was too late the T20 licence was already sundowned. I for one am not interested in reviving corpses and I've lost all interest in T20 simply because it is no longer being supported and has no future. I've tried to be positive about the SF20 ruleset although I've seen bugger all in additional playtest files added since they first went up on the moot. (I might be wrong on this as my moot membership expired last month). Hunter has vanished again and the most recent T20 product (revelation station) lacked any sort of grit or imagination. I am currently between rulesets for my traveller game and am considering going back to MegaTraveller, Classic Traveller or even T4. Mongoose is quite nice, but is a bit dissapointing as it seems to have many of the same flaws and problems that plagued classic traveller in that it's not a self contained game.

I don't play as often as I like, but I did run a T20 session at a Games convention here in Montreal this past weekend. I'd like to run a regular campagn but part of the problem is that most of my gaming friends have little interest in SF gaming.

have it (and the gamemaster shield too) never used either...thinking about selling all..great shape...anytakers? make you a good deal.

I'm not playing at the moment, but I am thinking of running games of it in the near future in my gaming group and at game days.

I'm going to have to change my Kinda to a No.
We are converting our campaign to another system at the moment.
It may see some use in the future though.

While I still consider T20 a fine ruleset, the T20 game I was running halted due to the death of a player. The remaining group has returned to the table for Traveller, but with a complete reset including edition.

As systems go, I consider T20 to be one of the best things to come of the great WotC shakedown known as D20 and the OGL.

The folks I ususally game with are currently scattered to the four winds. If I could pull a group together, I would be running a T20 game.

We started a MongT game.

But somedays, I miss T20. I like how enabling it is.

And I never got a chance to take the Player's Guide for a spin.
