Reptii?

Just one minor thought. Did Mongoose says the Reptii were canon?

I would think that just because something is printed in the S&P does not make it canon.

I didn't see any references to the OTU in the article, although I admittedly didn't read it all that carefully.

I agree with your second point, Daniel. I think it's important to remember that the ruleset that is Mongoose Traveller isn't intended to be as locked in with the setting that is the Traveller Universe as much as earlier versions (with the exception of CT) were. Therefore, unless an article in S&P specifically mentions elements of the OTU, or has some sort of specialized "MWM" gold stamp on its masthead, the safest assumption is that it is not Canon.

They do kind of and then again don't. The article specifically refers to the "Traveller universe" (no official appended) and the Reptii being "one of these races" in said universe.

TBH if they become a canon race then it's something to play around with and to demunchkin. I don't mind. :)

As to the designs/deckplans, well it would be simple enough to design a counter force (especially when High Guard comes out :p ) to totally nerf them.

How about a big fat trader with "Foood!" written on the side of it in letters 10 meters tall? Only problem - the Foood! comes with some 'nuclear' indigestion pills!

Of course, with the range the Reptii operate C4 would do just as well ;)
