I've owned the adventure "Broadsword" for twenty-plus years now, and have read it over and over again, but have never actually ran the thing for real.
I guess I have a few reservations. First, it seemed to me that the first scenario where the mercenaries raid the town to capture the rebels was a real one-sided deal. If you used Striker, the weapons the rebels had were completely unable to penetrate the merc's armor.
Second, I couldn't see how the "Ambush" scenario would ever happen. Why wouldn't the merc's just pick up the attack force in the cutters and fly them back?
The raid by Zhodani commandos looked better, and I reckon the space battle would work out alright.
It seemed to me that the rewards were kind of meagre too. The payout wouldn't even cover the mortgage price of the Happy Fun Ball for the length of the ticket, so it'd be a losing deal for the owners (whoever they might be).
Okay, those were my worries, that said, I loved the adventure and would like to try it some time. Has anyone actually run the adventure, and if so, how did it go?
