T4 Only: Selean Federation Background

Perhaps when it finally reaches the Zhodani the incredible concentration of psionic individuals offers a natural immunity and the wave peters out...
causes a bit of upset in a few subsectors and causes the panic but then is shown to be nothing but an overreaction to a phenomenon that is not as dangerous as they first thought.

I don't care about "higher dimensions" mumbo jumbo backporting justifications for an FTL retcon. (n)
You lose the argument in favor of FTL on canon foundational grounds. Thank you for playing in an ATU. :poop:

Kind of like how having personal "Dune Shields" at TL=F in the Third Imperium is obviously (and egregiously) breaking yet more canon foundational rules.
Yeah, that's one of my "things" about the Traveller universe: The only departures from from reality/physics as we know it are specified and clearly laid out. That wasn't one of them.

They get to bend reality, or at least probability. It's not outside their plausible capabilities to shift some characteristic of either the wave itself or of the universe in a way that mitigates its effects before it gets a significant distance into their space.

MgT has an easy means to get rid of the wave - Grandfather ...
... whose "window on the universe" is near the Coreward border of the Regency. He might notice when The Wave crosses his pocket dimension's portal.
If a Droyne helped discover the _Secret of the Ancients_, Grandfather might then do something about The Wave.

Regina, Jewell, and Aramis subsectors are still disaster zones, but places further Rimward might not be.

Laairer

Laairer

2314 B559111-8 LoPop 904 A1 V

Laairer is a world covered with massive oceans, with only a few, small continent "islands" dotting the surface. Any population that once inhabited this world before the long night has since vanished, apparently fleeing elsewhere before the inevitable arrived. A few crumbling outposts spread across several of the islands are all that remain of their legacy. Why they fled is something of a mystery. Laairer, the world, is actually a moon orbiting around one of the system's gas giants which lies within the "green zone" of they system's A1 V main sequence star. While a little cold, as the planet is on the outer edge of the "green zone," it's size, atmosphere, and temperature are well within human limits, especially at the more temperate equatorial regions.

Today only a small contingent of people inhabit Laairer, having settled the world less than thirty years ago. The entire population, (numbering less than one hundred,) all work at the newly built class B starport, located on a island near the equator. The starport itself was built, and financed, by the shipping company Imperiallines, LIC, who clearly have an interest in expanding their business as Cleon's burgeoning Third Imperium begins to grow. Whether Imperiallines waits for the Imperium to expand past them first, or drive that expansion themselves, remains to be seen.

The only Imperial forces that permanently occupy the system are a "squadron" of four small fighter craft stationed at the starport.
