The Cygnii subsector is the most remote subsector in the Solar Triumvirate, situated in the extreme rimward-trailing corner of the Sol Sector. Even the more corward-spinward systems in this subsector are about two month (or more!) away from Sol even with the relatively new Jump-3 drives. The rimward edge of the subsector is not yet settled and was only briefly surveyed; the more "established" colonies to the coreward of the subsector are less than a century old. Welcome to the hard, real frontier!

The subsector has a total population of 11,204,390, with the largest population of 8,000,000 is in the various habnitats of the Ross 193 belt. The highest TL in this subsector is TL10, at Ross 193 and Mu Cygnii.
The Alpha Pictorii "colony" consists of a single Forge-class Asteroid Mining Rig and 10 Type-J Seekers, as well as a small workshop/habitats with a crew of 30 on one of the gas giant's moons, producing simple spare parts and other assorted simple equipment for the Rig. All facilities in this system are operated by the Tirovski-Yang Consortium (TYC Inc).
Six systems in this subsector are listed by the Traveller Aid Society (TAS) as Amber Zones as no known permament settlement exists in them, and they were only gone through several preliminary surveys; travellers who intend to pass through these systems are advised to stock their ships with spare parts and other supplies, as they will be totally on their own in these systems.
