Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Wariness on behalf of the Hivers, and anti-non-human dislike on behalf of the Solomani, I'd say. Specific incidents I don't know about. Have you looked in Rim of Fire?

There's some stuff in the GURPS alien books seen from the Hiver side. At a fundamental level, the Hivers aren't too upset about having the Sollies as neighbours because:
(a) Apart from a bit of cross border piracy, which the Sollies don't try quite as hard as they might to suppress, they aren't too bad as neighbours.
(b) They keep the Aslan, whom the Hivers don't like much, away.
(c) If the Sollies got absorbed into the 3I (the likeliest way for them to vanish), the 3I would be really big and powerful. The 3I is the Federation's favorite neighbour, but still...
They spy on the Sollies, and manipulate them, and sell them tech that stops working at the push of a Hiver button, just like they do with everybody else.
IMTU, during the early Rebellion period the Hivers organised a peace conference between the Solomani and the Imperium. The conference collapsed into chaos after some of the delegates were murdered. This was all planned by the Hivers - as long as the two sides were fighting each other, they weren't bothering anyone else, and the best way to make sure they kept fighting was to sabotage any peace talks.
