Something for T20 fans...

Apparently some people here play T20, meaning they can stand the d20 system, a fact that mystifies me.;)

My bewilderment notwithstanding, there's a great .PDF out there for t20 players that I'd love to recommendm given that I have it. It's called "1001 science fiction weapons" and it delivers what it promises: A huge listing of weapons for any SF campaign you can imagine, from hard sf to space opera to pure science fantasy.

It literally has 1001(+) weapons listed and described, so suffice it to say that you should be able to find something to fit almost any genre, and yes, quite a few weapons would work in various versions of traveller as is.

So if you like T20 you need to go to drivethrurpg or rpgnow and get this, it's an excellent and low cost product, and may be one of the best values in .pdf game material ever produced.

Why does it mystify you that people like d20? I find it very easy and intuitive. The level system is kinda generic, but I find if you multiclass, you don't notice it as much. Other than that, One Die To Rule Them All...

Thanks for the recommendation; I may plunk down the $9.00 to download that.

For a while I used miffed when others would rag on D20 now I am just somewhat amused. At the core D20 is a good system, it flows and is very playable. Although I will concede that D&D has gotten too bloated with so many rule books, manuals, feats, and other nonsense, does not change what is at the core, a good game system.

While not liking something is a legitimate stance, in the past when I asked people what they disliked about D&D I found it reflected more on their own style of play than any issue with the game itself. Then there are the cool kids that dump on D20 just because it is so popular, They kinda remind me of the anarchists that hung out in the coffee shop in college.

I never liked the CT game system, but I can understand those that do and are fiercely loyal to it. Now I have always loved Traveller, and to me T20 strikes a near perfect balance between playability, realism and fun. I make no apologies for liking D20. But I will say this, with about 28 years of gaming under my belt, a good GM and a good gaming group is more important for a fun game than anything else includimng what rule set you use.
