Radiation shielding in glass isn't an issue (but the weight of said glass is), nor, particularly, is preventing the radiation shielded glass from getting hit (since we have microasteroidal impact resistant glass in testing, as well).

The mass (and launch cost) is the big issue at present, tho'.
