Starship Combat

I was wondering if anyone knew how starship combat will be handled in T20. So far the only system that I ran and loved was the Alternity setting and ship combat was a blast and very dramatic. Everyone could do something and had many options to choose from.
I have an old copy of Megatraveller but to be honest I could not make much sense out of the rules. It looked like one shot killed a compartment or blew up the ship. Of course I have not looked at it in a long time so my facts are kind of fuzzy.
So does anyone know? It will make a big difference if I am to buy the book or not as I like to run ship combat. Thanks!

Let me go home tonight and re-read my Alternity Starship combat rules to see if I can come up with a good comparison. I've run a few T20 starship combats (as part of the playtest) and think it works pretty well (keeps everyone busy, making rolls, etc).

So how does the system compare to alternity? Also are there rules for building your own ship?

Sorry, Unfortunatly someone seems to have walked off with my Alternity Core rules book. The T20 rules do contain rules for the Pilot, Gunners (duh), and Engineer(s) to all be making rolls during combat, all of which have an impact on the outcome of the battle. And once you start taking damage, the entire crew can get involved in damage control.

Yes, there is a starship design system. It's a slightly upgraded version of CT Book 5, and a hair more complex than the Alternity: Starship system. If you're comfortable doing Alternity designs, doing T20 designs won't be a big learning curve.
