CT Only: Supplement 4 career pensions?

Book 1 says Scouts and Other careers don't get pensions. Supplement 4 implies that all the S4 careers get pensions, except for Barbarians, who can't retire.

It doesn't make sense to me that some of these careers would get a pension, like Rogues and Nobles. Is there something I'm missing?

I never understood why he scouts don't receive a pension. After all, they served in dangerous missions the Imperium for years if they reach the age to earn it...

About the careers you tell, I don't see why not Nobles, as they are said to act as Imperium officers in many ways. I agree with Rogues (and Pirates too, BTW) that they would not logically earn a pension from the state, though they might have some dividend of previous actions, but should not be a fixed quantity as pensions are.

I'm working on a character record app, so I'll probably allow pensions for all those S4 careers (except barbarian) in case folks want that. Unless someone can point me to info that says otherwise that's documented.

unless the rogues and pirates invested their ill-gotten gains, and now live off the dividends. Money laundering - I don't think it will be going away even in the far future.

Maybe the idea is getting hold of that scoutship in compensation, which at this point, is only speculation.
One of the relevant points is the money table, scouts have good mustering out money coming compared to the other services. The detached scout of course is another.

Only barbarians are listed as no retire for S4, so all the others should get it.

Pirates can’t be pulling in talent without a little cushion for the future. Those cyber peglegs don’t come cheap…,
