After getting back into Traveller (purchasing the Core Rule Book), what would be the recommended next supplement I should purchase? Any input would be appreciated.

Which edition? The immediate recommendations vary since the core book's contents vary.
I'm assuming that you mean the current Core Rulebook. Central Supply Catalog is a good choice.

I agree with CSC, it will give your players loads of stuff to play with.
After that it would depend upon how important ships or vehicles are in your game.
High Guard if ships, Vehicles if vehicles.

I guess I should of provided more information. I assume it's the 1st edition (printed 2008). I was looking for more info on the various sectors/subsectors/alien races.

I like alien race chargen. So I pick the first alien module book that I need for a game session. The Mongoose books all come down to needs at the time.
Pick a location and an alien race supplement to go with it, that way you've got some location and some antagonist (maybe) info. Eg: Spinward Marches & Sword Worlds books, or SW and Aslan. Either way you can have the players start out in an area of the SW where that race/starnation is located and you've got everything you need for a pile of scenarios to start off with before having to look at anything else.
Another option is to look at the FFE website and purchase a disc or two of older information that you can use with Mongoose Traveller.

Mongoose 1e books were done for the Aslan, Vargr, Zhodani and Solomani with sectors included, and for the Spinward Marches, Solomani Rim, and Deneb sectors.
There is also The Traveller Map website for all the space map you're likely to need, including those in the above books.
The other three Major Races (Droyne, Hivers, and K'kree) were not completed during the 1st edition run and have not appeared under 2nd. You have the base sketches in the core book, and you can ask here, check the wiki, or pick up the appropriate books from prior editions for those races if you think they might be of interest.
