T20 Char Gen

Berg

SOC-13
Hello,

Has anyone started a T20 Character gen prog,
and has anyone tried tweaking say PCgen, Redblade
or maybe E-tools to see if they could work?

Tom

There is a Yahoo Group: T20_PCGEN

It states it has instruction for Coverting PC Gen for use with the T20 system. I just found it today, so I have no idea how indepth it is, but it is a start.

I have one started. Just wondering if I should wait until the players guidebook comes out b4 I finalize the code. Also wondering what data I can use that will make it D20 open source (or whatever its called) can I use all the skills and feats? Prior Hist?

thx,
-Chris

Perl/Tk. But will have a standalone exe using perl2exe. Coding this has turned out to be alot harder than I anticipated. But its still fun. GUI and presentaion are the toughest. I'd be done by now if it wasn't for that. :)

Still plugging through prior-hist. cleaned up a bunch of code, added the feats/selection and display, added education options, almost finished level-up procedure, compiled it just to make sure I can (perl2exe isn't exactly a compile, but it makes a standalone exe).
Mutli-classing and trying to implement it in the best way possible is tough. I want it simple enough that makes it easy to add classes.

Good to hear the progress and looking forward to the results ;) I'm workin' on a VB prog char gen for CT+ based on the freelance traveller article "Generic Extended Character Generation System by James Jensen". It provides the extended char gen like Bk4 mercenary etc.. in a generic form so it would seem like maybe CT+. I'm tempted to used MT tables and cascade skills as well. Just cleanin' up code etc...

I would heartily recommend using MT tables and skills for CT+ programs. MT chargen is very nearly a superset of CT; in other words, it almost is CT+.

Lackey, some of us felt that MT always was CT+...

Or at least the bastard child of CT, HG, and Striker....

Megatraveller Chargen needed tweaking to make the game more lively and should have moved the game to a points based system. One of the major problems was that it did not substantially improve on the HG & CT systems. TNE introduced a whole host of careers but I think we have only begun the work of making a Chargen that actually works is with T20. But, I still would like to see more of James Bond RPG style.
