T20 Stat?

Hi all!

I have a character stat from someone else that I'm trying to understand:

Medium Human Academic 8; Init: -2 (-2 Dex); AC: 8, touch 8, flat-footed 8; AR: 0; Spd: 9m; St/Lb: 22/6 BAB +0; SV Fort +0; Ref +2; Will +4;

I can't seem to find what the AR stat might be, and I'm assuming the St/Lb has something to do with lifting capacity. Can anyone shed light on this?

Thanks!

After some research, it seems that AR (Armor Rating) is a different stat than Armor Class (AC). To your point, the AR reflects the AC + the buffs offered by the Armor being worn. It's a shame that there's not an entry anywhere that provides a list of the various abbreviations/acronyms/etc.

However, thanks for your response! :)

AR or armour rating is damage reduction.

"Damage Reduction by AR: Roll all the damage dice, but then remove one die from the damage roll for each point of AR the target possesses. Always remove the lowest rolls first. Whatever the target’s Armor rating, leave one die (the highest one) on the table. If there are still points of Armor rating to be accounted, subtract the remaining points from the remaining damage."

It is part of the standard T20 statblock which is using a D&D 3.x statblock.

(From the D&D 3.5 Rules Compendium pg 70)
Flat-Footed
At the start of a battle, before your first regular turn in the initiative order, you’re flat-footed. You’re denied your Dexterity bonus to AC while flat-footed. A flat-footed creature can’t make attacks of opportunity.
So, being surprised you are flat-footed and cannot act (denied rolling for initiative). Even if you are not surprised, on the first round, if someome acts earlier on inititive in the first round, you are still flatfooted (but at least you can act later at full defense, if you survive).

If you need the T20 rulebooks, SciFi-20 from Quick Link Interactive is availeble on DriveThru. It is T20 with the Original Traveller Universe references removed.
