Texas Traveller Game Day?

from Flynn
Can you make it the second or third weekend of March?
Third weekend works for me. Second weekend will be doing chemotherapy, so thats out.

Would prefer Dallas to Austin, but, I think I can still make Austin.

We have a date set then:

Saturday, March 18th

Now we need to know what city to plan for. Given that this is for Dan primarily, I leave it to him to decide.

If it is Austin, I will make plans to secure a location for gaming. If not, we need a Dallas-based volunteer to help out with this one.

With Thanks,
Flynn

Tell you what guys. How many can show up at Dallas, and how many can show up at Austin? Who ever has the biggest people, goes there. Think thats OK Flynn?

I can go to either, so I'll stay out of the vote.

That works for me.

So, who can make it, and to which location?

Please cast your vote by Friday, February 17th.

With Thanks,
Flynn

Voting and Logistics.

I would quickly add, for those of you voting for Dallas, we would need to know how your going to do the logistics there. If your going to have it at somebodys house, or a hotel, or what?

I think Flynn has the logitics figured out for Austin.

I haven't seen that for Dallas.

As for myself, I have resource for my self for either place, but only my self.

So what I'm saying is, if you folks want it in Dallas, you need to see some logistical gear in motion ASAP!

Greetings Travellers of Dallas,

TRAVELLER ROAD TRIPS!
Well, that was slightly disappointing. But I was kind of expeting that.

Highlights
1. Lone Star Comics in Mesquite: Had one book, it was for GT, that pirate one, Granicass or something like that. Nice little shop, but not anything for Traveller.
2. Adams Mark meetup: no shows. Had a nice club sandwich and ceasar salid at the lounge though.

Conclusions:
I'm really beging to see Austin as the place to go. I see no Traveller activity detected in Dallas.

plop101,

I am currently working on trying to be able to run some Traveller games at a new con here in Austin, Horizocon, which is March 31, 2006 – April 2, 2006:
http://www.horizocon.com/

If so, that would take care of our space issues and provide other entertainment as well. Should I continue to pursue it as an alternative to our Texas Traveller Game Day event? Or should the TTGD remain a stand-alone event?

Please let me know your thoughts,
Flynn

Get it into the Convention; yes, that sounds good.
And sorry for the wait there; the brain is slow sometimes. And not cause of the tumor, unfortunatly.

Yeah, that would be good spot. Everything will be calm and countroled, etc. Sounds good.

I'm going to be added to the schedule at Horizocon, with the following two scenarios:

Title: "T20 Adventures: By The Bloody Moon of Burukansse"
System: Traveller T20
Players: 6-8
Synopsis: "At the height of the 55th Century, the advances of science are astounding. Why, then, do the people of a world that has mastered the technology to travel between the stars fear the creatures of the night and the coming of the blood moon? Another adventure of the merchant crew of the ISS Murphy's Law, using the Traveller T20 system. Characters will be provided."

Title: "T20 Adventures: The Miners Of Khirliish"
System: Traveller T20
Players: 6-8
Synopsis: "The miners trapped in Substation Alpha are desperately in need of medical supplies, and are willing to pay heavily for delivery. Can the crew sneak the materials through hostile territory to make the rendevous, or will they leave the miners to die? Another adventure of the merchant crew of the ISS Murphy's Law, using the Traveller T20 system. Characters will be provided."

They are a continuation of the Con games I've been running for the last three years, tracing the journey of the merchant vessel ISS Murphy's Law across the Glimmerdrift Reaches coreward towards the Ley sector and home. Although the second adventure does not require participation in the first adventure, I'm going to write them both so that there's a sense of continuity to reward people who play in each one.

Who else is going to run a Traveller game at Horizocon? (It could get you free admission and a T-shirt, as well as our eternal gratitude.)

Enjoy,
Flynn

If we do this on Saturday, will be playing Traveller on April Fools Day.... :D
