This is a project that has been very close to our hearts as we have prepared to explore one of the most mysterious areas of the Official Traveller universe - the Great Rift. Penned by fan-favourite M J Dougherty, this box set details not only the sectors of the Great Rift but also provides a comprehensive guide to deep space exploration and the mysteries that can be found far from the shipping lanes. Want to now what is in the empty hexes of a sector map? Want to know what happens when a Free Trader gets too close to a black hole (we have some excellent art for that!)? This box set will have all the answers.

We are working on the Great Rift box set right now, and already have some preview materials to show you - new ships, maps and sample chapters - all of which can be downloaded from the link above. We will also be doing regular updates throughout the Kickstarter process, showing you exactly what new text and artwork is being created, and giving you all the chance to influence this exciting new box set.

Quick note about the Preview of the Deep Space Exploration Handbook:

In the document, in the section about Brown Dwarfs, the heading for the section and the term used in the text is "Quasi-Stellar Objects". I believe what you meant (and want to change it to) is "Sub-Stellar Objects". A Quasi Stellar Object (QSO) is another term for a Quasar (Quasi-Stellar Radio Source) that is in actuality an extremely distant active galactic nucleus (a "feeding" supermassive black hole) seen at intergalactic distances.

Grammar - how about learning how to use commas (especially the oxford comma).

Also - write in active voice - passive voice obscures the action (and it takes up more space).

Write gender neutral - it isn't the 1970's anymore.

Well, it seems to have reached its funding goal within the first several hours. Right now it is at 3 times its funding goal with 28 days left.

The Great Rift box set (already funded, remember, so it will be appearing!) contains:

* Two full colour, 96 & 128 page books covering Corridor, Reft, Riftspan Reaches, Afawahisa and Touchstone sectors.
* Three gigantic (28" x 48") two-sided, full colour sector maps.
* The Deep Space Exploration Handbook, a 32 page book featuring all the rules needed to conduct deep space exploration, plus the specially designed ships needed to traverse the void.

After 8 months of hell in trying to move home I don't want to change my password at this juncture, only to have to change it again when I move, which I hope will be shortly.

Can you have words with kickstsater people please?

I did contact them a couple of days before I posted here, someone did eventually get back to me and I have managed to back the project.
