A few things are interesting about the Valley of Memories.
It makes a good original colonization landing site. It's a gigantic bio-preserve. At least one species is only found there. Shrieker civilizations appear to have liked it for a hundred thousand years. They now bring their unhatch-ing young there.
As the "original" colony, the best tech, medical and otherwise, would have been there. The planet's biosphere would have been managed from there, including the gradual introduction and integration of homeworld species.
They would have had to colonize 567-908 more than 100,000 years ago. I would put it at -200,000, fifty thousand years after the planetoid strike that nearly destroyed the biosphere.
- It's protected and remote, nestled in the mountains. AD10 map.

- Thingvellir's crested trapper ... breeds exclusively in the Valley of Memories on 567-908. AD10
