ThunderChildes campaign ships and ideas, feedback welcome.

Not sure if I should split this topic or not, but here goes. I've been beavering away on ideas, concepts and more than a little wool gathering about my campaign. I am going to post a few of the ship designs, no deckplans yet, for critique and feedback. These are MGT by the way.

The primary current bad guys are a TL 9-10 expansionist military types. Riffing on the fluff describing how J-drive was discovered by the Terrans while experimenting on manuever drives, the baddies have gone down a side path on tech.

They had a wrecked ship, damaged J-Drive, not enough of a fusion+ Imp standard power plant and none of the drive plates. So while tinkering with reverse engineering a J-drive they discoverd a way to use the jump web on the hull as part of the drive system. Rule wise, nothing has changed, except for the following, must be a spherical hull, max is 3g, surface hits for thruster damage are rerolled. Thinking about a mechanic to reduce the acceleration by way of hull damage fractions. Feedback needed.

The local good guys/next up for being conquered have a borderline TL-15 tech base. Nothing special beyond the usual MGT HG things. They are the last surviving independent planet of a collapsed politity.
1st up is an 800 ton Patrol Frigate of the goodies.

Built in 450 (998 Imp.Cal.) The Red Knight class has been a very successful local system and regional patroller. It is also used as a convoy protection and Anti-Piracy vessel. It is a prized command for younger, audacious officers. The Admiralty Board seems to appoint an uncommon number of future Captains of the Flag to Red Knights. Since the Collapse, Red Knights have been worth their weight in gold and vital to securing local trade safety, and system defense duties.

The Righteous class Destroyers are the smallest and most numerous vessels in the
Mal G’nar fleet. It has the typical and peculiar equipment and technologies of this Red Zoned menace. The torpedo bay is often loaded with Ortillery rounds. Recently they have been rebuilt with advanced technologies like the Jaisoyk Bureau Model 3305 datanet, Murio Bureau Gen.2 Mod 9 Drive, and Yacobson Vigilant Mk.1 sensor suite (Comp/3, J-2, and Military Sensors).

Special Notes: Tail Lander, AC’s are turreted in a slide ring below the command deck, one on either side of the hull ring.

This is the smallest utility craft of the Mal’Gnar fleet. Design for flexibility by the Erskir Design Bureau, it is used to ferry cargo, for boarding actions, and for planetary raids. Typical of the technology is a nuclear power plant, and reaction drive. It is armed with a pair of Auto-cannons to support ground ops.
