I've just been re-reading Bounded Fortune by Independence Games. It's a merchant's manual for space trucking games set specifically in the Clement sector, but also can be applied more widely to any 2d6 game. It's nicely detailed and full of good ideas and usable material. There is one part I'm not sure how to use though...
There is an interesting section on Trade Routes (p 152 - 157 in the paperback edition). Most of this short section sets out a quite complex calculation of Trade Characteristics and then applies them to the planets across Clement Sector. I follow the logic and the calculations well enough, but I can't understand how these quite large numbers are actually used in a trading game. I'm sure I could come up with some kind of homegrown bonus or penalty to add / subtract from a cargo availability role myself. However, 5 pages of intense calculation and meticulous data are devoted to this, so I think it likely that this has already been done. But I can't find it.
Can anybody help me sort this out?
