Interesting. I only noted one problem. Once you're promoted to post captain, there is no more promotion rolls. You advance up the list as those above you are killed or become admirals. Along the way the big question each year is will you be employed or languish on shore at half pay? Employed or not, when you reach the top of the list, you're automatically promoted to admiral. At that point you face one crucial decision (on the part of the Admiralty). Will you be offered employment or become pensioned off (a so-called 'Yellow Admiral')?
