Velde Protectorate Game

Located coreward from the Spinward Marches, the Velde Protectorate occupies a portion of the sector between the Zhodani Consolate and the Vargr Extants. Currently consisting of four subsectors, the Protectorate represents a highly technological society, roughly equivalent of the Imperium in both technological capacity and military might.

The Velde Protectorate is a legacy in contradictions. While less than fourty years old, it possess a rich and vibrant culture. It is a place of three uniquely diverse cultures of equality yet as the same time there is a strong anti-Zhodani bias. There is a high level of education, arts, and science yet at the same time it is a state at war.

1. Are there any restrictions other than the ones posted for character generation?

As to the first question, not that I can think of. There may end up being some but those will likely arise when characters are posted.

As to the second question, there is no exact time limit. I tend to be fairly relaxed as a game master and am not in that much of a hurry to get started. Quality takes time, after all.
 
There's a couple of interested personages. I'd like a couple of more to round a group out. It's bring your own character.
 
I'm interested. I am also interested in playing my first Vargr or some kinda alien. (I normally play Humans (Sols)) You got any indigenous races for consideration?
 
Can I be what amounts to a "Fighter"? Is that ok? not so much a soldier, necessarily, but a scrapper of sorts? A former Corsair?

Because this campaign doesn't take place in the Imperium, there are a few details that require notification. For ease of reference, I've listed them here and any additional items that come up will be noted in the future.

I would prefer that everyone have some military experience as it will make life much for me when it comes time to put everyone together.

1) Abilities: roll 4d6 for each statistic like normal.

2) Race: The only races available are Humani (Human), Vargr, and Aslan. Also, anyone of Zhodani blood will suffer a sharp social penalty. A pure Zhodani will have a maximum social of 10 and a mixed will have a maximum social of 12.

3) Homeworld: Irregardless of what you may roll up, for purposes of character creation, you will have a tech level at least 10. The average tech level for the Protectorate is 12 and many worlds have an even higher tech level.

4) Class: There are no Scouts in the Protectorate. Exploration is handled by the navy and diplomacy is handled by the nobles.

5) Prior History: You can roll as many terms as the book allows with the following exception. No one with a social stat of 16 or higher can be fourty or older. The established nobility is very new and most nobles were knighted for service rather than inheriting.
*Also remember that a character on active duty in a branch of the service can (and should) add half of their level (rounded down) to determine their assignment for that turn.

6) Mustering Out: Any questions, please ask. Remember that the Trust Fund feat does not add to your available money after mustering out.
