What does this mean for BITS?

My 'Traveller' license expires in 3 years. That doesn't mean the rules will necessarily disappear after that point ;) As a matter of fact I'll be posting an announcement in the next few days regarding this.

Excellent news Hunter (I think...).

I got my son and some of his friends, who are D&D zombies, to try T20 and they loved it. They were a bit sceptical about the whole SCIFI stuff, but once we got into our first space battle, they were hooked. Converting over to T20 was quick and easy.

They were totally uninterested in a D6 system (I tried honestly I tried) and I think T20 will get new gamers into Traveller maybe as much as anything Mongoose is going to produce.

Personally I don't like D20, but it is out there and people like it.

Here's hoping T20 is around for a LONG time!

BITS has build a solid gold background for Traveller these years of interegium and I sincerely hope they will build a solid licence with Mongoose. But, I fear the problem is not with the licence but with BITS itself...many of the CORE members have moved away and the costs of doing business is fairly prohibitative for such small press runs. Hopefully, the licence terms are based upon something like revenue collected -- the real exciting part will be when things go OGL in the Traveller Universe.

I really hope we can see an explosion of product like we did with the d20 fantasy and almost everything else craze...as I would love to see a Future Noir, Near Earth, Hard SF Campaigns abound under a Traveller licence.
