What's Happening to DonM?

Almost anything. My writing is worse than ever now.

I have to re-learn to write, but I type every thing except notes.

Which now even I cannot read.

Dex loss, eh?

Recover as soon as possible.

Y'know, I'm starting to realize Int aging saves probably should start earlier...

For those of us in the real, modern world, yes. Since there seems to be an Int loss in progress for many people (in D&D terms I'd call it a Wis loss).

In the future it could take longer due to medicine but that doesn't mean it wouldn't have a harsher penalty.

The only memory loss I have had was things over an 8 hour period last Sunday, and then impairment for about 16 hours afterwards, ending roughly Monday mid-day.

So every thing Traveller is good... and apparently helpful to my recovery.

I should be able to travel on my own after next Tuesday, and we'll be back on track.

All the best Don. I had a couple of strokes, in 2006 and 2011, they're annoying interruptions. Hope you have a full and swift recovery.

wishing you a speedy recovery

I am sorry I am late tot he thread I have been sole parenting for the last two years...

Don.... I hope you are getting the support and care you need. Wishing you a speedy recovery from my side of the galactic arm.

Hmm .. a few years ago I was very ill with cancer, practically bedridden for a few months in fact. And Classic Traveller helped see me through that. I couldn't stand playing on a computer which made me feel sick (and couldnt get to it very easily any way) so I spent a lot of time creating things in Traveller - re-reading books, creating adventures and the like. And now yes as you say above every day is a blessing to me and every day I feel so happy that I am still here to see my kids growing older etc

It was a very sobering experience and apart from anything else makes me realise how important being healthy and fit really is.

Sometimes though these things are a warning as well that you have to change your ways. If its stress you need to do something about it and change jobs or whatever. And if its a lack of health and fitness - start exercising a little bit!

Well, in my case I've gone from 350 lbs to 165 lbs through gastric bypass, and eliminating my diabetes meds. On top of having a quadruple heart bypass two years earlier.

So I'm much healthier today than before. If only I had stayed on the aspirin and Plavix...
