I wonder if the JSF choice was finally decided for political or keep-a-company-afloat reasons? Boeing can survive without the contract. But can Lockheed?
Also, who wants a "pregnant" aircraft?
Hopefully the magnetic episode will be next week around here. I've wondered what else to the pole switch does to the earth? Maybe magic then works and science doesn't?

Yeah, I got the feeling it came down to politics/jobs and maybe a bit of rejection because it didn't "look" right
As for the pole switch I'm not too worried unless it happens in my lifetime and then I wonder if it'd bugger up my usually excellent sense of direction and range
Unless that's more subconscious sky/landmark based, though it seems to work pretty well in structures too unless that's just landmark recognition too.

Still on the look out for the following repeats
Haunted Hotels, episode set in Scotland featuring ME. Never seen it yet but everyone else round my part of the world has.
Some BBC documentary about the technology of the First (or second as I called it at the time) Gulf War featuring ME giving a graphic description of calling down MLRS fire, now that's shock and awe.
My granny said I looked good in the uniform.
The new series of Location Location Location featuring ME, serving the presenters Kir Royale by the river as they complete the real estate deal at the end of the show.
Time Team dig at Roxburghe Castle, that's ME beside the JCB passing out hot soup to everyone.
Finally my late best friend Thomas (Captain Happy) Murphy's favourite, the news clip showing British Troops in training for the liberation of Kuwait, an NBC drill is being sounded and a lone figure is seen behind all the bustle of masks going on and hoods being raised, one hand holding helmet on head and the other desperately trying to pull up his trousers. Damn those compo babies caught me off guard every time.

I'm sure the pole switch when it comes will bugger up all sorts. Me? I'm more worried about the Mayan end of time. Their calander is extremely accurate and is counting down....to December 23rd 2012
