What's Your Favorite Mod

I'm interested in knowing what your Favorite GDW Twilight 2000 module was/is. I would also be interested in a favorite encounter/adventure/story.

Thanks all

I ran the original Polish adventures nad found the most enjoyment was from The Black Madonna though Gateway to the Spanish Main was a laugh at the time.

I ran the original Polish adventures also
but for me I enjoyed the Mid-East mods,
and as it turned out was also full of
personal irony as I fought in the Gulf War..... ;)

I never got to run any of the modules, but the two I liked the best was the starter scenario supplied in the 1.0 rules and the Howling Wilderness module. While HW was more sourcebook than module, I liked it because it filled in quite a lot of the gaps as to what shape NA was in after the war.

I don't remember which mod it was in, I will have to go digging in my storeroom to find it, but the one that has the 'Mountain Home' scenario was my favorite. We were never able to take it, getting killed off with depressing regularity.

I never had any of the overseas mods, except for 'Spanish Main', which I liked for the ship, the U.S.S Constitution, and the hoard of weapons in the half sunk freighter. We also never beat the Pirates, though we managed to assassinate one of their leaders once, with a lucky grenade throw.

I ran Black Madonna and Free City of Krakow with my group in Glasgow. It's still fondly remembered, as I had an email from one of my old players recently who had just honeymooned in Southern Poland and was pleased to find how much he already knew about the area from our TW game (well, it was a bit more built-up and I guess the trains ran more regularly, but still...).

I moved from Glasgow before we could start any more modules (Pirates or Going Home, depending which direction they went from Krakow) and I haven't run more than the odd pickup game of TW since.

The one I always wanted to run though was the Last Submarine trilogy. I had scoped out some set-pieces and fill-in adventures to run in the gaps in the story. Great stuff!

Cheers

David

Escape from Kalisz
Pirates of the Vistula
Gateway to the Spanish Main
Satellite Down

Actually, almost every module had something to recommend it. I didn't like the later modules look (the glossy ones like Bear's Den, etc). I preferred the original style of art.

I like Bear's Den, of course.
EfK and Madonna were classics that never failed to entertain. Never played any of the American campaigns...

Encounters...as a player or ref?? As a ref I had players entering a Soviet held town, challenging the troops and not noticing they weren't being followed into a city clearing. A player responded "clearing? We look for somewhere to hide" lead player.
"Your not being followed into the rubble. The tallest wall is 3ft high."
"Oh no! run..."
