Yeah, there's an app for that...

I dunno if I want that. It wouldn't be good if ⌧ just popped up on my screen every time I got bored typing a report. Or got bored with the movie I was watching with my wife.

LOL. I was just thinking about the mayhem of squabbling over the remote - I hadn't considered it quite so graphically though... :)

Hmm.. haven't had a problem with this yet (RW tech hasn't advanced past my 80's sci-fi tech - re: original post).

Re: operating computers via brain impulses - actually did that over half a decade ago. Played a packman style maze game and a pong game - not very well mind you (pun intended) - but not to shabby for only 30 minutes of use. (Device was designed for handicapped - I didn't see anyone pulling strings or any extra sensors other than on headband.) Of course, if one is talking 'mind reading', this wasn't it, just a form of bio feedback.

Very funny sabredog and also a good point - reminds me of the first time I played with voice control in the early 90's. In my excitement at my first command working, I exclaimed something and the computer did something un-intended. Naturally, I cursed at it and the computer offered a delete confirmation window! Yanked the mic and haven't tried since :oo:

People must realize that technology follow market trends and fads as well.

Remember How small cell phone got before the cell phones companies sort a standard their size? Yes they offer more bells and whistle nowadays, memory and gadget galore. Who would have thought Texting is such a problem these days with drivers?

There will come a point where any technological device reaches the right shape and size to fit their niche in the market place. Smaller is not always better, having to many option or upgrades usually are lost on the consumer so companies will scale back those sort of things in order to make a profit instead of millions of unit lying around collecting dust.

Traveller is no different. There will be marvelous hand held devices as well as the bulky desktop devices. Just think about the phone and the computer for example...
