• Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

That Long? Really?

I didn't think I'd been Out of the Imperium for quite this amount of time...

Welcome back you mangy mutt :D

The reason for the apparent chrono anomoly is due to you not getting the jump drive in that barely flying assortment of parts you refer to as your corsair serviced in almost two standards. I'm surprised all you got was a minor temporal anomaly and didn't just show up turned all inside out ;)

Actually, it's due to the board rebuild and such. Complicated computer mumbo jumbo. What you need to do is log out and log back in again and all will be set right. I think...

Oh, and you can get your name changed back as soon as the boss gets back from whatever business he's up to. There is a thread around here somewhere for people to go and beg to get their preferred names back but I don't recall just where it went...

In the meantime there's all kinds a new goodies and treats to play with on the new and improved CotI.

TWO standards? I had to nurse my drives along with very specific parts for five years, then spike the LHyd with coffee grounds (expensive Terran beans, mind you, not that vile stuff they grow on Regina) to get time travel out of them. What's HE doing right?

Yep! We all got that blurb when we first logged back in after rebuild.

Note 2 things interesting about the date. (1) It is before Al Bore invented the Internet and (2) it is before MWM designed Traveller. Marvelous thing this internet!

Sorry I need to correct something. Al Bore really did not have anything to do with establishing the internet. He just tried to claim credit for it.

I suspect that it's to do with the fact that UNIX counts time starting at 00:00:00 on 01/01/1970. Well that and a 1 hour time shift, in your case!
