Looking for Traveller players in the military

Ditto

Especially as a lot of the Grogs that I know, served in the first Desert Shield/Storm/Fox trio.

Grenada
Panama
Desert Shield
Desert Storm

Armored Reconnaissance Specialist (Cavalry Scout)
Special Forces
Administrative Assistant

Jan 1980 - Jun 1993 then blew out a knee and career was :toast::( all without disability pay of course. If I had still been In Special Forces when the cut-backs came along I wouldn't have been put out (I think?)

Enjoyed my service greatly and would do it again if need be but don't think they are looking for many 52 year olds right now.

Whoa - were you in 4/68 Armor (then 3/73 when we went regimental?)

I was in B company, 83-84.

Fort Knox and Benning for Training
82nd Airborne
2nd and 4th Squadrons of the 7th Cavalry
11th Armored Cavalry Regiment
10th Special Forces Group
3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment
2nd of the 7th again, then out.

Nah. Unabashed lifelong civilian, me. Though I do regularly campaign along with my Dad to support UK soldiers in their fight to retain disability benefits, along with recognition for war widows and other political issues.

Guys who put on the uniform and accept the Queen's Shilling do so for a damned good reason, and in gratitude for their having given over their lives to ensure that I can enjoy mine, I do all that I can to make sure that their voices are heard where it counts.

I know with certainty that a lot of Usarians feel the same about their boys in uniform too.

havent done... yet :)

never have served, yet but i want to :).
also i want to thank everyone that has served(man i wish they had a saluting smily :(.) thanks :):):):):):):)!!!!!!!!!!!

Started off on the USS Enterprise

DS 1: Shop 10A ship superintendnet's office SIMA San Diego. Got the 'privilage' of getting the 5 biggest POS amphibs in the Pacific ready to go with a MAB aboard for that one.

Wrong coast for Grenada and Panama.

9/11 USS George Philip for electrical work to get her moved. What a zoo that was. She was in the Continential Marine yard under the Coronado Bridge and they wanted her moved like yesterday.

5 times to the ME Bahrain etc., for our latest fun and games.

And, a bunch of places in between.

But, all that fun is behind me now.

US Army MP active '92 to '97. Eqypt-Israel, Hawaii, Thailand, States. Reserves afterwards for a short while

No maroon beret, but did complete Air Assault School and wore an orange beret for a bit.

Played some Traveller and 2300 AD while in with fellow soldiers. Even stuffed some RPG books in a platoon footlocker for a brief campaign when I was stuck in a desert for 6 months. :D

Egypt-Israel + Orange Beret + Air Assault = 101

Is that math right? :) IIRC it was the 101st doing the Sinai rotations in that time frame.

I'm a 1987 graduate of the Air Assault School. The rappel tower even had "TAAS" painted on it then.

Well Air Force here. I was in avionics from 82-91. I did two tours in Iceland and flew during the invasion of Panama in 89. (stationed in Oklahoma at that time)

I must have missed this thread until now.

US Navy, 82-88. Nuclear Power operations, USS Eisenhower (CVN-69).

And I ran Traveller campaigns the whole time I was in the Fleet.

1. Free advice: Learn not to bash someone for something trivial when they were showing respect to others.

2. Don't correct someone on capitalization while leaving words uncapitalized yourself.

I can ask around at the game store if anyone there plays Traveller. I should probably visit it anyway to see what kind of gamers they do have playing there. I usally have my Traveller shirt on when I go in such places and see if anyone pipes up.
