15mm deckplans (and plans in general): what's out there?

What the subject line says--what's out there besides the FASA material and the plans that came with the Traveller wargames?

I'd be especially interested in building or outdoors plans. 15mm but not necessarily for Traveller--can be generic scifi.

Some of the Judge's Guild stuff had deck plans; the ones that come to mind are Darthanon Queen and Simba Safari.

Don't forget, the Seeker stuff also had 15mm versions (if you can get it).

If you can track them down there are the SGS (Seeker Gaming Systems) plan sets.

Their most productive period was during MegaTraveller:

EDIT: Never mind, I see they're 25mm, I could have sworn they were in 15mm. Maybe the CT ones were? Hmm, nope, also 25mm.

P.S. I had to go look at my old SGS plans, mystery solved :) I photocopy reduced them to 15mm.

All Seeker's Traveller plans were released as both 25mm AND 15mm. Not sure about their 2300AD ship plans, its been a while since I looked at them.

There were lots of Judges Guild sets too ... there was a commercial ship that had a "core ship" (tower block arrangement like the AHL) plus three "module ships" that docked along each side (I cut mine up and mounted it on card which as they are double sided meant getting two sets) ... and Dra'k'ne Station (an STL asteroid ship with plans but not mini usable). Also a 'generic' starport (Tarklin Down?). IIRC the Border Prowler series (trilogy) had the same plans in each for the main PC ship.

IIRC "Top Secret/S.I." had a set of generic plans (warehouse, train, apartment, airliner) that is usable.

FASA did 2 buildings for Traveller (a hotel and an office block) And some of FASA's products for Star Trek can be converted over. Also, I seem to remember a space station in an old Space Master adventure made a passable highport.

You can find some stuff on RPGNow/DriveThru in PDF. Some generic, some theme specific. But given TL range in Traveller most are useful (medievel might be slightly over represented).

Ah, so they are :) I'm not going crazy (much) ;) The ones I still have are 25mm (probably couldn't find the 15mm when I bought them) but I do see in the catalog in them that you could get either. Thanks for the note Hemdian.

It's a pity SGS couldn't get their act together to reissue them as they planned. Even as pdf through RPGNow would have been great.

my isp has shut down its webpage service, or I'd post my deckplans page. pm me an address and I'll email them to you if you like. gotta find another isp ....

Collected Vessels

I have a fair collection of various deck plans, were you seeking one ship in particular ?

May I suggest Flickr.com as a possible free hosting site for the deck plans you might care to share ?

Thanks for the answers. I too could have sworn Seeker were 25mm only...

I'm especially interested in building plans. I do have the FASA hotel complex (lucky me)--was the office block ever published?

Will check out Top Secret--that sounds promising.

Well, now, how about that... The sticker does shock, I have to say.

Also, I have the S/C and the Beowulf plans in my Snapshot game, so really I'd have no reason to get these.

Unfortunately. :D

Diy

Those are quite nice toys but pricey toys all the same.

Myself I'd just have a set of deck plans printed on clear plastic sheets then adhere such to inexpensive transparent clipboards (hardware removed of course) and voila, the same end result with the bonus of being able to employ full color underlays as one so desired.

For the really large deck plans such as ones found in FASA's Merchant Class Ships or Aslan Military Ships, simply have an oversize copy made and have such laminated. The nice thing about that process is the plans will roll up for storage and allow for dry erase markers or Post'em Notes to conceal or detail interior spaces.

I do agree on SGS. I had an email correspondence going on with them when they were going to re-release them as PDF's.

If Far Future is going to release FASA's Traveller stuff on CD, I hope they reprint the deck plans.

I'm also hoping that someone will release PDF's of old Traveller deckplans already set up to print in 15mm & 25mm format both.

I have several non-canon deckplans on my site: www.darkhstarr.com

I designed them with CC2 Cosmographer for 15mm but you still have to resize them to 15mm when printing. Also you have to print section by section, trim & piece together.

It's a pity SGS couldn't get their act together to reissue them as they planned. Even as pdf through RPGNow would have been great.[/QUOTE]
