Possible future ATV of sorts. ;)

I want one... but in rave camo... florescent pink tiger strips on florescent green base...

Oh, and rubber tracks are street legal round here...

Travellers TL8 atv

Hi,

that does look a bit more along the lines of what I used to envision for a Traveller ATV.

Agreed. This is the only only one I could find with a cabin and great tow capacity. The little atv car might be needed in certain planets. The Sweden atv is a great option. Also there are plenty of conversion kits available.

Yep, that Chetra is pretty much what I envisioned for the TL10 ATV, especially with the RV accommodation swapout behind the cab. Never really thought about it being modular with a crane-arm truck version, etc, but I have now - thanks for that. :)

Got no use for a Smart cat, or a twisty-track bike, but I want one of those bikes the kid is playing on. :)

chariot

there are some nice youttubes of the chariot running about. And yes its the classic but thinking about it not really fit for the purpose. It needed a towable popup or some cabin for inhospitable areas.

The Chetra is fun and the Russian's have some ingenious approaches to dealing with Siberia. However the small vehicle above would be good on planets where tires are not the best option.

There is also a good video of one Russian ATV pulling another out of the Russian bogs. LOL

The Russian vehicle looks interesting, but I would happily take something on the line of at BTR-60 with a closed top and some pre-fab plastic housing on the side.

As for the converted Smart Car, it reminds me of some of the homebuilt armored vehicles of the 1920s and the Carden-Lloyd tankette, which was widely adopted in the late 1920s and 1930s.

LOL. I love the bit about 6-Wheeled Vehicles: "Because Sometimes six axles are better than four." Ummmm.... If it had six axles, it would be a 12-wheeled vehicle........ They then repeat the mistake for 8-Wheeled Vehicles.

My 4 wheeled van has 4 axles. Each drive wheel is on a separate axle coming out of the transmission, and the rear wheels are on 10" long axles.

Don't want character experience with track repair!!

Pivot steering in teh sticks and finding a hidden stump gave plenty of real-world experience, thank-you-very-much.

I wasn't the one driving.

I do believe, however, that I taught a buck sergeant that when I say I can't see at night with blackout drive, trust me, I can't see at night with blackout drive.

Have a nice trip into that ditch, sarge? I told you I CAN'T SEE!!!

Hehe. SanDragon, you sound like an Army cadet I knew. He was adamant about going into armor when he graduated, because he was almost totally night-blind and he needed the infrared/night-vision. Made it real fun doing survival and evasion at night, though he did manage to make it through without getting a broken nose.
