• Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

A week of high activity.

I really haven't uploaded any images... if there is a way for RS to be given my quota also... hmmmmmmm

Y'know, I had that same thought. Sadly, computers are less flexible than people for such things.

"Bill Stickers" apparently relates to a very old Brit joke. Someone stuck up a sign on a wall saying "Bill Stickers Will Be Prosecuted", i.e. those who stick up advertisements (a.k.a. bills, posters, etc.) would face prosecution. Some jokester responded with a sign that said, "Bill Stickers is innocent."

And now you know ... the rest of the story. ;)

Maybe you guys can start a new thread about uploading content.

I'm still curious as to how we had a week or more of regular posting, then suddenly everything dies down except for the select few who interact with me semi regularly.

I've noticed this phenomenon on some of the other forums from time to time. It's like being in a crowded room at a party where everyone just happens to pause for breath at exactly the same time. (Cue nervous laughter when it happens.) I suspect a mathematician of statistician could expain it ... probably, assuming no outside events disturb the group subjects, just a function of time and size of group.

Eh and nobody has yet given me an explanation as to why I can't upload my zip file.. unless that is a 66 upload limit for everybody

Carlobrand: It appear to be the maxium amount one can post to the art gallery.

Foleypt: Aramis is still researching your problem. Hopefully we'll both know on tuesday the answers to our questions.

Whew!
I thought it might've been me returning from a week of vacation!
Timing is everything; I'm gone for most of a week, and the discussions heat up.
I return, and everything dies off...
Typical! ;)

I know what you mean. For a long time, I felt like a thread-ender. I would post my comment on a thread, and ... *crickets*.

It appears to be working. I'm not getting the error message, I'll try to upload something later on today. I'm getting ready for work right now.

I shouldn't be the one to say this because I mostly lurk anyway, but here goes. Since the second week of the month it's been quarter end at work (technically since the first week but that affects me a bit less). This takes a lot of my time and energy and I am reasonably certain this affects others as well.

Besides, everyone has been fixated on their personal high-tech communication/information devices awaiting word of the RDP's arrival (Royal Diaper-Pooper).

Not that the brat has made his much-ballyhoo'd arrival, and now that CotI's server is back up, we will all resume our prior posting patterns.

In my case I was busy getting a sprog packed off to the Air Force. She's in their hands now, though tomorrow I am expected to appear for the swearing-in ceremony. Then blissful peace for weeks before another upheaval for a graduation ceremony 1800 miles away. I'm proud of her and all, but what's wrong with a simple, "Bye, see you in six years!"? ;)
