Adventures, Short Adventures

I am trying to rebuild my set of the CT reprints (thank you recession:mad:) after having to sell them, but Classic Adventures and Classic Short Adventures are crazy hard to find.
Anyone know why Far Future doesn't reprint them? I'd snatch both up in a hurry!

The adventures one was rare I had the whole set but that one. I also sold them and got the original booklets instead which I prefer.

Don't know why, but can speculate...

1) physical product inventory is taxed annually. Unburned CD's aren't inventory, but raw materials.

2) The retail arm wasn't moving them too well.

3) a physical reprint means a substantial (multi-thousand dollar) outlay which is unlikely to be recouped

4) they'd be competing with the MGT books, and competition with one's licensees is very bad form.

Now, Marc probably could put them on Lulu... but then one would expect $50-$70 per big floppy... but first, he needs to get the digital masters done correctly.

email Mr. Miller... farfuture@gmail.com. He'll likely be the best source for an answer.
This Vendor says their copies are "On Order, Expected Soon".

The Short Adventures reprint was rubbish anyway all the pages were messed up. And I found them just too bulky to use and too large to find things easily.

Short Adventures

Thanks. I signed up on noble knight to get an email when they get them. In the meantime, if anyone sees them, let me know?

That's pretty much what I did for 'Adventures' though I paid through the nose for it: $60

Short Adventures I was lucky and picked up a used copy for $22 (before it went oop)

I entered a Classic Traveller frenzy last year. I'm now in the second part of it, having just abused some birthday money to buy:

Little Black Books:

Double Adventures 1-6
Supplements: 1, 2, 3, 9, 10, and 13

and also

Tarsus
Book 8: Robots (Slightly beat but I'm not paying the price for a mint copy).

Yeah Book 8 Robots are going for loads on Ebay lately - around £16 per copy. Ridiculous, must be the rarest Traveller book IMO. Only ones that seem to get anywhere near that are The Imperial Fringe and the Lightning Class Cruisers supplement. Luckily I dont want either of those but I wouldnt mind a Robots book...not paying that much for it though.

Book 8 robots and adventures 12 and 13 are the only books I do not have now. Been trying to get them but they go for a bit and compatition is fierce. That and High passage 1 and 4. I have gotten 4 of the signed 10s though. 2 adventures and 2 race books. I would love to know more of the history about them though.

I paid around $25 for Robots, it was actually in slightly better shape than the seller stated, as was the copy of Tarsus which I picked up also for $25.

I just traded in my Iron Crown 'Middle Earth Roleplay' collection today for this little stack :-)

Adventure #1 - Kinunir
Adventure #2 - Research Station Gamma
Adventure #3 - Twilight's Peak
Adventure #4 - Leviathan
Adventure #5 - Trillion Credit Squadron
Adventure #6 - Expedition to Zhodan
Adventure #7 - Broadsword
Adventure #8 - Prison Planet
Adventure #9 - Nomads of the World Ocean
Adventure #10 - Safari Ship
Adventure #11 - Murder on Arcturus Station

Supplement #8 - Library Data A-M
Supplement #12 - Forms and Charts

Alien Module #1 - Aslan
Alien Module #2 - K'Kree
Alien Module #3 - Vargr
Alien Module #5 - Droyne
Alien Module #6 - Solomani
Alien Module #7 - Hivers
Alien Module #8 - Darrians

Spinward Marches Campaign

JTAS: 10 Issues 11, 13-21

Far Traveller #1 (FASA)
Far Traveller #2 (FASA)
Rescue on Galatea (FASA)

50 Starbases (Judges Guild)
Drakne Station (Judges Guild)
Traveller Logbook (Judges Guild)

Desert Environment (Gamelords)
Duneraiders (Gamelords)

That should leave me with a good set of reading material :-) I couldn't trade in for copies of:

Book 0 - An Introduction to Traveller

Supplement #5 Lightning Class Cruisers.
Supplement #11 Library Data N-Z

Adventure #0 - Imperial Fringe
Adventure #12 - Secrets of the Ancients
Adventure #13 - Signal GK

Alien Realms
The Traveller Adventure
Alien Module #4 - Zhodani

So those will have to wait.

Far Traveller

I'm very interested in reading both the 'Far Traveller' and JTAS articles. I would have liked to pick up some of the 'High Passage' issues as well, but the place where I traded in did not have any in stock (well not at a price I wanted to pay anyway)

It'll be a while before I can grab anything else.

Does anyone know what the current value of 'Alien Module #4 Zhodani' is? I couldn't find any copies online to gauge price. None of the dealers I found had copies.

Zhodani

I said I wasn't going to buy anything else, but I found a stray copy of

Alien Module #4 Zhodani

for $8...so I couldn't really turn it down ;-)

Crikey, went for £17. I ought to put my second copy on Ebay pronto!

Yeah Im not buying at that price - it is surprising what they go for these days, but I think a lot of it is collectors or whatever completing their sets.

Seems to be a fair few other books being offered a ridiculous prices as well such as Veterans and that Hotel thing.

And that pad of square paper!! Now that price is mad - Ive got that GW Spaceship Layout pad and its pointless - the squares are 1cm in size, whats the point in that for 15mm miniatures!! Ive got a scout ship drawn on a couple of those sheets and just realised its far too small becuase the squares arent 1.5mm !! I am going to have to redraw it now.
