AHL vs. Snapshot

Can't I just fill in the missing weapons from Striker?
The JTAS' also have some weapons with Striker stats, and there's an entire article that takes the archaic weapons form Supplement 4 and The Spinward Marches Campaign, transforming them into Striker weapons (also useable in AHL).

When I looked at having a go at Traveller "Wargaming" for skirmishing I looked at Snapshot, AHL and ACQ.

Snapshot is nice and simple and easy to play, it's problems start when you move it out of the small starship enviroment, beacuse it's lacking almost all other types of skirmish enviroments (like houses, trees, water etc), and weapons. When you hit these limitations you have to house rule.

I dropped AHL beacuse it was more complicated than Snapshot and didn't fit as well into Traveller the RPG.

When I was playing 3D (ish) Snapshot and wanted answers I looked at ACQ, beacuse ACQ covers almost everything you need in the Traveller skirmish enviroment, infact the system is good as well, alowing more flexability than Snapshot without overly complicating it, and it's easily convertable into any Traveller addition.

I would say that Snapshot and ACQ are Traveller RPG skirmish enviroments, while AHL is more in the Traveller wargaming enviroment.

Just my thoughts.

Ewan
