Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Early searches indicate it is either a department of the Solvenian government or it is a vessel size designator for traveller.
FASA seem to have used it as a designator for very large ships.
On the "Classic traveller Product List" I found the following:
Supplement ISPMV: Fenris 1981
Supplement SPV: Valkyrie
Supplement ISCV: King Richard 1981
Supplement ISPMV: Tethys 1981
Supplement ISCV: Leander 1981
Supplement ZISMV: Vlezhdatl 1981
That will at least give the following people context to answer the question with.
We KNOW that TJ recently bought the King Richard - so he may be willing to give the answer

You hit it right on the head, I thought it was something N.C.C.1701, USS Intrepid or the IISS and everyone was familiar with it but me:

MV =Military vessel
CV= Cargo vessel
IS= Interstellar Starship
(FASA's version of IDP-Imperial design program)
The Valkyrie SPV is a non Interstellar design-an armed lander for the Tethys class (carried 6 of these 20dtn fine machines/ external grapples on dorsal after deck).
SPV does not have "Interstellar", hence no "I".
P= Paramilitary
