I'd like to know what the Patrons IYTU's have to say when they first make an offer to your characters. For instance, I posted this one in Random Static:

... and the patron says:

"So here's sumpn ya gotta know. I gotta son-in-law, y'see? He's a good kid, but he's got a soft touch. He's no piciotto, capische? He needs some trainin in what it takes to throw his muscle around..."

"So I'm gonna make you a deal. You gotta far trader, right? You got expenses, right? You need an apprentice, right? ... Right? Good. That's very good. You catch on nice..."

Yours is a Costra Nostra type of patron I guess.

Plenty of oppurtunities to leave a K'kree head on someones pillow then I guess.

Very much like that patrons should be amongst the most fleshed up NPCs they are afterall very very very important to the game.

Don Shimizu Valone is only one of my patrons. Now, how do your Patrons relate to your players' characters?

Presumably the way anyone relates to their underlings. By careful application of the carrot and the stick they guide the characters well mostly the carrot (rewards) afterall MTU tends to provide its own stick.

The Patron should ideally be a fleshed out character but they probably wont be massivly close to the PCs. You need a working relationship with your employees after all.

I would take care to act out a patron more than the majority of NPCs. They are afterall more important than "Man in street 3".

in a bounty hunters campain I was in we had this guy as kind of a patron top guy for a bounty hunting & "privite security" firm, in exchange for training the guys nephew he would provide sutibily chalanging jobs for my character using his contacts in the MOJ and intligence comuinitys, you see my character was not in the job for the bountys but for the Hunt she was a pure predtor and liked the adisonal chalange of "Live Capture" of dangrous individuals piticluary those with exotic or esoteric abilitys

Inishial aproch:
Miss "Narisa" no last name, Bleaved to be of Irklan extraction, joind Impiral Army, 001-1103.
all service records after basic, D-Notice, D-Notice, D-Notice and of course D-Notice. even parts of the records before that are seald.
But I have contacts, very good contacts, and even they could turn up not mutch else, rated "Expert" to "Instructor" unarmed combat by the time you reached AIT.
Recuted to spechial opperasions school strait from AIT all records of your eveluisions are sealed, and you go from there to, well an other D-Notice
Third year of service IAI generates an Alias for you so you can attenend OCS, and after that you disipear back in to the Armys black opps comuinity, untill you muster out right before the war, with a DNA referance from IAI for a bounty hunters licince

The speal goes on with the patron coming close to about half the characters secreats and then making an offer, train my sistors boy and get lots of cash fat jobs and a ship or I hand over all I got to INI who would love to know what IAI is up to with the few aproprasions thay get, and you might just disapear.

"Captain Rekobah? Your ship the Rising Wind? Can you take on a passenger? I need to leave right away. Where're you going? Great place, I got some friends there. They can pay you for my passage and...

Hey! Don't walk away! I need to go somewhere, to get away from... uh... look, I'm in trouble. BIG trouble. But I didn't do anything, honest! Now they're after me, and I don't have a snowball's chance... yeah, I can work. I'm the Concierge at the... well, I was until this morning... but I know how to cook, clean, and keep people entertained... it's just that I'm a few credits short of a low passage, and like I said, I REALLY need to get out of here fast!"
