Another (different) University Question

So I am making my Prior History and I want to do a term in University. How does the experience in University work? Does it apply to your current class, or could it apply to the next class you plan to go into?

For the time being I've been applying it to the current class but sometimes it just does seem logical.

Thanks for your help.

The experience earned during University can be used in any class for which the character qualifies. Could be the current class, could be something the character multiclasses into. As long as the character meets the basic qualifications for the class, it can use the XP in that class.

As a house rule, I don't allow characters to apply university XP to any service class other than Merchant, unless they go to a specific millitary school (Which is simply an RP choce), and never to Barbarian. But otherwise, yeah, they can use it for pretty much anything.

To service classes, only if they are attending OTC.

Otherwise, they can always apply the XP to Academic or Professional. If they want to apply it to another class, that´s only possible if they are studying a subject that´s relevant to the class in question.
For example, for Merchant, the character would have to study Economics, or maybe some relevant Engineering thing (to be a better starship crew member). For Noble, I guess History or maybe Law are valid choices.

ETA: Barbarian includes TL3, doesn´t it? At that time on Earth, there were already universities, so if a Barbarian character studies on one of those, he might apply that XP to Barbarian class - again, if it is a subject relevant to the Barbarian class. If such a university offered classes on "The Laws and Customs of Off-Worlders", that would be a good thing to study for the well-educated Barbarian who intends to travel off-world.
