Any LBB6-style Data for Spinward Marches?

saundby

Are there any sources of data for fleshed-out systems for the Spinward Marches? That is, not just the mainworlds but stellar type, other planets, and so on. 1105 era is preferred, but since the non-human elements of stellar systems don't change much other eras would work, too.

Official would be preferred, but anything that doesn't conflict too seriously with OTU would do.

I saw some data on one of the online map sites, but it had me scratching my head. For example, for Glisten it showed the mainworld as being a large icy planet with the A000... UPP, with two asteroid belts elsewhere.

TIA for any help on this. Glisten and District 268 are my main subsectors of interest, but all the SM is game.

Let's see...

Regina is detailed out in LBB6 &/or WBH... but not with fluff.

The Bowman Belt of dist. 268 is detailed out in Beltstrike.

A couple of worlds are detailed out in adventures in Challenge and in JTAS.

A3 Twilight's Peak is set in the marches.

The Traveller Adventure provides some details on more than a dozen worlds.

Darrian is given some detail in AM8: Darryen

One of the Traveller boardgames is set in the contraterrene belts in the marches.

GT: BTC has some fluff text for almost every world in the marches.

Grand Survey.

For Regina *happy sigh*, I believe it was Grand Survey, or Grand Census, I would have to check the stacks, God, I am such a Librarian's Son. I got to go and complete my CT LLB Collection (but I have found a Secret Source...I just got Supplement Three...*happy sigh*).

Anyway one of those two have it but I also believe that there are DGP, so I don't know how canonical it is.

Stellar types are in the Spinward Marches Campaign. Some of them (okay, a lot of them) were changed in TNE (Regency Sourcebook) in one of the few updates to Traveller based on newer understanding of astronomy, but if you are sticking to CT sources, SMC is the first for stellar data.

What changes, you ask?

The two biggest:
-The vast majority of red dwarf primaries (Mx D) were bumped to Main Sequence (Mx V), leaving the dwarf stars as binary companions.
-Sub-Dwarf stars (VI) were removed entirely, as they are incredibly rare IRL.

Note that the SMC listing is what was carried forward and updated for MegaTraveller, so if you have access to an 1116 listing, the astrographic data will be the same.

A lot of adventures and campaign settings that are canon-compatible have been brought in JTAS Online (but also a few that are NOT canon-compatible, unfortunately).

A non-exhaustive list includes:

Every world within six parsecs of Regina in Worlds Within Jump-6 of Regina.

Echiste (Spinward Marches 2313) in Echiste
Extolay (Spinward Marches 1711) in The Most Dangerous Prey
Forboldn (Spinward Marches 1808) in Forboldn, Nine Groundlings and The Troublemakers.
Grant (Spinward Marches 1607) in Plague Planet.
Pirema (Spinward Marches 2314) in Problem on Pirema.
Regina (Spinward Marches 1910) in Interesting Times in Regina Startown, Engine Trouble, Trouble on Surprise Crescent, Regina Startown, Regina Startown Denizens, The Revagi Trail, The Towers of Atora.
Roup (Spinward Marches 2007) in Upon a Slimy Sea.
Ruie (Spinward Marches 1809) in Ruie and Manhunt on Ruie.
Walston (Spinward Marches 1232) in Cry "Egherz!" and Let Loose the Humans of War!.
Whanga (Spinward Marches 1806) in A Visit to Whanga.

(Most of these are my own articles because they are the one I can remember off-hand, but there are more writeups by others).

Some of my work on Regina's history (based on work by Glenn Goffin) has been posted here: http://traveller.wikia.com/wiki/Regina_(world)

Nice!

Thanks a lot, all.

I missed the stellar data in SMC earlier. That'll save a lot of die rolls. The sort of info that's in the Beltstrike book on Bowman is exactly the sort of thing I was looking for--data on the system as a whole.

In The Traveller Adventure the section on Patanir has some info on the system aside from the mainworld, but I didn't find that sort of info elsewhere.

I'm needing fleshed out Book 6 style systems since I've got a party on a Scout mission that is overtly the sort of survey in The Imperial Fringe, but covertly surveying the rest of each system for likely locations for secret bases, listening posts, etc., as well as looking out for any activity that may already be there but unknown to the IISS.

It's been taking some effort to keep filling out the systems ahead of the adventure. If I get time I want to write up a program that will do the rolling for me, but I figured if the data's already out there it'd be worth my while to take advantage of it as much as possible. That way I can spend my time concentrating on the rest of the adventure.

Thanks again.
