Anyone Using 15mm or Larger Ships and Minis for Games?

Thanks for sharing your list(s).

Yea, Denizen still makes some of the 25mm Ventaurans. I'd like some of those too.

Eureka's 15mm offerings are superb as well.

I need to start painting both minis and terrain. Have been working on acquiring the necessary items, figs, and vehicles for some good Spaceport adventures with a bit of variety, as well as for other scenarios too.

Fortunately today, we are spoiled with many excellent choices in a multitude of scales, unlike last century, when pickings were rather slim.

Remember that Denizen's figs are 25mm matching the Grenadier 25mm Marines and character packs.

And steer clear of the SF-9 Ventauran figure without a helmet - his ears and features make it pretty clear that he is a humanoid alien, vice a Zhodani. The other Venturians with helmet on are perfect Zhodani.

Here's my chosen, toy "lander" or shuttle photo.

It scales nicely with 15mm - 32mm figures, which is a great bonus, since it can be used with 3+ scales of figures - 15mm/18mm, 25mm/28mm, and 32mm miniatures.

Mako, did you attach a photo or link ? I don't see anything.

Yes, pickings were slim - when you consider how bad so many of the old Citadel 15mm Traveller scuplts actually were (with a very few exceptions). But back then that was all we had (many of us used Roco Minitanks as the basis for our military vehicles, especially the Schutzenpanzer HS 30 family of vehicles) https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/...-Minitanks-NEW-1-87-Modern-West-German-HS.jpg Those were cheap then but cost a fortune now. Cheaper now to get the many purpose-designed sci fi vehicles now available!

In my list of 25mm, forgot to mention that Ground Zero Games has a pretty good range of 25mm figures too. I got 10 of their UNSC (United Nations Space Command) hard-suit figures to serve alongside my Grenadier Marines as a third squad. They are not exact matches for them, and they are just a tad shorter (some of them are female, too), but they mix fairly well (and you can always put them on a slightly thicker base). The helmet is similar to the Marines, with that sallet-like neck flange, but there is a slight flattening on the back of the helmet. Again, not exact, but pretty close (and much less costly than the Grenadier box, which on E-Bay can easily exceed $150 for a box of 10).

Many of the other GZG 25mm lines are also very Traveller-like. The NAC troops are wearing partial helmets and what looks similar to the Poly-Carapace armor in the Central Supply Catalog (and their weapons would do nicely as ACRs with under-barrel grenade launcers - some others carry laser carbines and one figure even carries what would do nicely as a PGMP).

There is a new line of Albedo minis, too...

25mm scale.

For those unfamiliar, Albedo was an anthropomorphics comic, in a fairly gritty space opera post-human setting. No gravitics, but high-efficiency plasma drives.

The ground vehicles look pretty nice.

Oh, I'm well aware. Mongoose messed up both the aslan and vargr illos badly.

Yes, I can't take them or the Albedo versions seriously. Look like cartoon figures, not like aliens. The 15mm gamer is well-served with true Vargr-like figures, but the 25mm gamer not so much. There are the two decent figures in the old Grenadier Traveller Alien Mercenaries box, but not much more than that (and they are, of course, scarce and expensive - I have just the two). I found a couple of decent figures (armed with blades and in somewhat archaic clothing, but usable) in the Iron Winds Metals line of Arcana Unearthed fantasy miniatures (old Ral Partha, small 28mm or large 25mm):

That line also has a couple of figures that could be converted to passable Aslan (not that I need any more of those)(and as with the Vargr, one should steer clear of the female figures, which have human-like mammary dimensions, and of figures with shields):

And I just have to point out this fellow, who is an obvious human psionic talent:

You are welcome, CaptRet, and yes, I suspect it could be used for a Scout ship as well.

Wingspan for this version is 15", and length is 10", so it would serve just fine as a Scout in 15mm - 20mm. You might even be able to justify it as a small scout with larger scale minis too.

The older, even larger, original Quinjet would definitely work with large scale figs as a decent Scout vessel, or Assault Lander.

Who needs Vargr, when you gots Space Goats?

Though I must say the entire Spacelords line would be my Go To if I where going to switch away from 15mm.

Space Goats ? Now that's absurd (said the man looking for figures of talking, bipedal dogs/wolves). The Moonraker troopers look very fine and quite useful for mid-tech military. I think they were sculpted by Copplestone and look very much like his Future Wars range (they are smallish 28mm) :

Note the Spacelords are from Hobby Products and are definitely not Copplestone. Note Hobby Products did a line of Traveller Licensed 15mm figures as well which look like the Spacelords line but in 15mm.

But the Future Skirmish all have his look.

Moonraker is a collection of lines from other manufacturers that em4 acquired over the years.

Not a big fan of "Space Goats", but the Phagon Battle Clones are really neat!

Love them for use as Aliens in Battle Armor.
