Aslan Ships.

I recently was digging through my workspace & found two minis I had primed. They had been in a bag marked 'Aslan Clan Ships'. Since I bought them as is, unpainted, no stands or original packaging, I have no idea if they are Aslan. I haven't been able to find any references or pics online to verify if they are indeed Aslan ships. Does anyone know if any Aslan ships were ever produced?

For reference, I posted their pics on the front page of my website (www.darkhstarr.com). If they are Aslan, I would like to hold on to them. If, not I'll probably sell them.

They seem to have the geometry (i.e. the general shape) of Aslan-designed ships, especially reminds me of the designs from GDW's Dark Nebula (the wargame between Solomani expansionism and the Aslan).

Those minis of yours.... the geometry also comes *somewhat* close to the Aslan ship designs that came from GURPS Traveller via illustrator Jesse DeGraff. The GURPS Aslan ships typically have egg-shaped or flat oblong spheres for the forward hull sections of their ships.

You might also take a peek at DGP's Solomani & Aslan for MegaTraveller (if you have it!) as several illos of Aslan ships are presented in that book. The weird thing is that in Solomani & Aslan, the typical Aslan ship has a more phallic-shaped forward hull section.... not so much round or spherical. Did I just say the P word??!!!

Lastly, another source of "official" Traveller Aslan ship designs would be the old licensed FASA ship deckplans known as the "Adventure Class Ships" series, which had 1 or 2 Aslan ships amongst them.

Looking at the posted pictures, those ships aren't included in the Adventure Class Ships products. (I have both).

As I recall, those minis came out during Traveller:TNE days, and could be designs from that game. I used those in several starship combat games, but never as Aslan ships...

They are aslan ships. They are Trekhyair type Regency quarantine cutters (300tns TL14). Its a new era design used by aslan members of the RQS and built on aslan worlds in the regency.

Full stats and a picture are in the Regency Sourcebook. The minatures were made by RAFM as part of their TNE ships range.

Thanks very much. I spent a lot of time searching. Didn't have many of the TNE books other than the main book (which I got as a present), Vampire Fleets & Equipment Guide. Wasn't so much my dislike of TNE. I was unemployed at the time.
