Bartleby's Traveller Universe Creator

Hey Daneel - responded to your PM. I can try to put an exe together - can you tell me if you are a Mac person or Windows.

Could you make the executable, and any requirements, accessible to the CoTI community?
I'd love to try your program too but also lack the skills/tools to do installs from GitHub resources.
I too use an older Mac.
Thanks

Yes - I have a small update I have finished and I may stop development there for a bit, so it is a good time to try another executable. The requirements will not be heavy, so an old computer should be OK. I don't have a Mac, however, so any Mac users would essentially be the guinea pigs.

I'll work on it for the next day or two and should have something soon.

OK - update back on the main thread here:

@MarcPolo - apologies this will only work on Windows.

Hmm .. I'm game to try, but I'd need an executable/installer that works with Windows XP (my Mac's that old). Do you know if your executable will run on such vintage Windows?

You may need a 32-bit version of this app then. If you go to TERM or Terminal on your Mac and startup Python, what version of Python does it say is installed? And if you go to python.org, what's the latest version it will let you download/install on your Mac? Do you already have Python code running on your Mac that you've been using for other things?

Appreciate the idea. My installed is Python 2.7.10. Apparently python.org will support 2.7.18 or 3.9.2. I've not used python before, but perhaps TUC is the incentive I need, assuming there's a python install fileset. Do you have a recommendation for an ex-programmer who is very, very stale?

My train of thought was:
Update the Python on the Mac to 3.9.x.
Read up on using Linux commands on the Mac.
Read up on installing/running Python programs.
Read up on SQLite3 for Mac that comes with Python.
Install and run Bartleby's Traveller Universe Creator.
