Beyond Traveller - non-TU Deck Plans

Just curious if anyone has integrated deck plan designs into their TU from other non-Traveller sources.

I've always thought a few of the vessels from TSR's Spelljammer 'universe' might work as newly discovered alien ships or perhaps as ancient relics found drifting as derelicts in the spaceways.

Posting a links below to a a few great troves of Spelljammer deck plans, enjoy !

Sorta, before TSR(?) came out with design guidelines for Spelljammer ships (did they ever?) very early in the Spelljammer release I built a Spelljammer for our D&D game using adapted CT rules (B2 or B5, I don't recall). That was ages ago so I doubt I have it around anymore :(

I have seen StarTrek*, StarWars, and Firefly deckplans used for Traveller on this and other sites for a couple games.

* I was working up a trader (like Mudd's, I forget the classification) for a ST based Traveller game that kinda died quietly.

Alternity, Space opera, Star Frontiers, Space Master - just a few of the games I have ship deck plans for that are used.

There are quite a few pdf deckplan lines that are good for Traveller too, the Future Armada series being my favourite.

There's a few D20 Future deckplans on drivethrurpg.com. I haven't gotten any IIRC one company had made about six.

Fading Suns deckplans were built to be Traveller compactible when HDI was seeking a Traveller licence. I prefer those...the visuals on the Future Armada are second to none but their utility as deckplans is questionable unless you have a large gaming table. I am using the Argos III plans but find it unwieldly for just orientation...plus, I tend not use minis but use deckplans as visual aids. And, that is where I have the most problems save LBB plans.

I too have usually used deck pland for orientation & representation, and not used minis (in Traveller) much...

but I have just received a original Snapshot boxed set (unpunched), so....

I'm sort of a deckplan junkie; I google 'em, visit websites that have them repeatedly for any updates, copy even poor quality images, I even occassionally draw up some of my own.

Mostly, the deckplans I've found that are not immediately Traveller compatible are useful as either alien ships or wrecks that the players will never actually fly (so no need for accuracy) or even as space stations or ground bases (Star Trek plans are very good for this).

Others are useful even if only as inspiration; it's aways been my opinion that canon Traveller ships don't reflect a modicum of the diversity they should even accounting for the Vilani's conservative design practices.

There are a plethora of plans at these sites; good hunting:
