The forms in my pre-1983 LBBs include MICR* symbols below the lower right border. (Later editions use subtly different typefaces, suspect GDW changes some publishing aspects around that time..)

Anybody know if they had any actual/hidden meaning?

*MICR appears on the bottom of U.S./Canadian checks, there are only 4 special symbols, IIRC.
