Classic Trav and All of It

Ahem....

Just remember BB-64...We got one too. :p OK, we both had...wait do you people still have your BB? OOOOoooo....could be mad here...

Oh and don't even try the wave motion gun.....your puny culture stands not in front of the might of the Zendratti Fleets....

So...unless you all are hiding an SDF out there somewhere.....:D

If your putting a wave motion spinal mount into anything it best be the Yamato, the Texas isn't large enuff. And that wasnt used against the Zentraddi I would rather have the SDF-1 with its reflex cannon anyways, better range and lot more damage, specially for them Zentraddi.

Wow...

There is some real nice stuff there but the Airport is slow today, and only Airport...still that Paper Blue rocks....straight IN Fighters in there...

When I refer to CT, I refer to the game in its entirety. CT is a huge game with more supplements published than any other Traveller edition. Many third party publishers contributed to the whole with magazines and full-fledged publictions of their own.
I feel the same way. I feel very fortunate to have such an extensive library of Traveller goodness; it's also why I can't take seriously the suggestion that I should look at any other edition of the game that isn't damn close to 100% compatible with what I have, and use, already.

Traveller had terrific third-party support (arguably it still does) and game-specific journals, and virtually every general gaming magazine that was published in the Eighties and Nineties offered Traveller articles with rules expansions and variants. It's an embarassment of riches, IF you have access to much of it, but that is by no means guaranteed for many gamers, particularly those new to Traveller and the OTU.

I hope that FFE eventually gets that FASA and Gamelords 'apocrypha' put out on CD-ROM.

It is (as of last night) back on the web site as being worked on. Turns out that Seeker Games, which did a couple of deck plans, somehow ended up with the FASA stuff, but sold the rights to most of it to FFE (at least that is how I understood it)

Don't forget Different Worlds and Dragon...

Personally, I collect articles by the late Paul Montgomery Crabaugh; I could run a campaign with the Starter Traveller and his articles, and be happy.

I'll confess, I prefer Starter Traveller as my "core" CT text. Of course, you have to grab two chapters from the TTB to be complete, and then you need a copy of the First Edition of the LBBs to get the missing pieces (sigh)...

I still don't know why those weren't put back together for the reprints.

I think the name, "Starter" Traveller, gives some people the impression that the rule set is akin to something like T20 Lite or some other freebie, bare bones, basic set of rules.

"Starter" makes people think that its missing a lot of stuff.

In fact, I agree with you. I think Starter Traveller is one of the best sets of rules written for CT.

I'd rather have Starter Traveller in front of me than Books 1-3.

I have an idea of the CT articles in Dragon, but how many articles were in the other mags?

There is an incredible amount of Traveller material in the various magazines and fanzines. White Dwarf, itself, published 179 pages of Traveller goodness before the mag shifted focus to GW games only.

And, let's not forget the Traveller-dedicated 'zines, like the post issue #25 JTAS material in Challenge, Far Traveller, High Passage, and Traveller's Digest.

Pegasus, even, one of the Judges Guild magazines, profferred enough Traveller material to make its own supplement.

The original Traveller universe is vast, indeed.
